LavaBlast creates industry specific software to be used on interactive kiosks. These kiosks can be used in a brick and mortar store or brought along to tradeshows. Our kiosks are connected to the store’s intranet and can be updated remotely via a secure Internet connection. Remote management is an essential component of a franchise growth strategy. Users use the kiosk’s touch screen to operate the software which is connected to various hardware components such as a barcode scanner, a webcam, a printer, a card scanner, or even a fingerprint scanner which can be used for authentication purposes.

Self-service kiosks are a booming market for retail stores as they can cut costs, if used properly.  Our kiosk is enclosed in a custom-designed three dimensional fixture. The kiosk system can then be put into operation with the additional hardware components out of reach.  Our kiosk offering currently runs on the same hardware as is used by the point of sale system. This allows for quick recovery in the unfortunate occurrence of hardware failure on the POS.

Some applications would offer a better fit for custom hardware solutions by professional kiosk manufacturers.  We’ve created a self-serve birth certificate creator and tradeshow kiosk for franchise information requests. The tradeshow kiosk allowed people to have their picture taken at the franchisor’s booth and fill out a few questions (address, email). The kiosk would print out post cards in the back which were mailed to the franchise prospects at a later date. This gave the prospect retroaction after the event with the added benefit of giving the franchisor a nice list of contacts.
